Hey guys, this is the first entry in my league of legends replay of the week series. Each week, I'm going to be posting a video replay of a notable game from that week. Each post will include a brief recap of the match ups and the strategies employed by each team. I've been playing Twisted Treeline almost exclusively lately, so the majority of these games will take place on that map. However, I'll probably post a few games from Summoners Rift as well.

In this particular game I'm playing as Gragas. I've found great success playing Gragas on Twisted Treeline - especially in solo queue. His versatility contributes well to just about any team. This is especially important when you're solo queuing since you have little control over who your teammates will be. I also feel that solo queueing on Twisted Treeline is far better than solo queuing on Summoner's Rift. 5v5 games really require a strong, concerted team effort. In these situations, premade teams have a huge advantage. In 3v3 games, the advantage that premade teams enjoy is reduced considerably.

Now, on to the game.

Team Compositions

As you can see, my team consisted of Malphite, Gragas (me), and Zilean. It's a pretty decent combination. As Gragas, I filled the role of Tank/Dps while Zilean functioned as a Supporter/Nuker. Malphite functioned as a DPS/Tank as well, but in my opinion he should have bought more tank items earlier on.

The enemy team had Shen, Udyr, and Warwick. Shen acted as a Tank/Support but was also able to dish out a good amount of damage. Udyr focused on speed, defense, and attack speed. He didn't buy any dps items, but his damage output was pretty high. Warwick was their DPS carry.

On paper, these teams are fairly evenly matched. Neither team has any significant advantage over the other.

Now for the game videos. The game is showcased in 4 sequential videos.

Game Breakdown

This game began as many TT game do- with early gank attempts by each team. My team was huddled around the brush at the middle of the bottom lane. Zilean popped Clairvoyance a few times and discovered that the enemy team was going for the lizard. Malphite decided to juke around the enemies. He ended up getting killed. In an attempt to save him, Zilean was also slain. I, decided against engaging the enemies. As Malphite and Zilean were juking around, I pushed the bottom lane to the first enemy tower. I got a few hits off on the tower before I retreated to avoid being ganked. Luckily I was able to get away and prevent the enemies from acing us.

After the first battle, I take the top lane solo. I continue to farm and push the lane until around 8:30 when I head to the bottom lane to counter gank the enemies as they chase Zilean and Malphite. The enemies attempt to gank Zilean, but they fail miserably. Zilean gets away and I take out Udyr and Warwick in succession as they try to escape. Shen even ults in to try and save Warwick, but he isn't able to save him.

At 10:18, I try and take out Shen near the tower. I wanted Zilean to speed me up so I could get in a better position to Ult him, but he didn't buff me. I chase him around a bit and end up getting ganked. Zilean ults me, but it's not enough to save me from being killed again after the revive.

I continue to do pretty well for the remainder of the game. At 21:00 I'm 3:1 and I've completed Glacial Shroud, Merc Treads, and Guardian Angel. Despite my best efforts, my teammates continue to die! Ultimately, that makes the difference in the game. That and my Guardian Angel bugging out at 28:19... If you watch, I get killed and it says "You've been slain." Then the Guardian Angel goes off and revives my ghost, which stands there for a few seconds and disappears... As a result, we lose 2 towers and 1 inhibitor.

At 36 minutes in, I attempt to solo push the bot lane. However, I overestimate my team's ability to defend our Nexus, so they end up getting killed and our Nexus gets trashed. Even though my team played pretty bad and the Guardian Angel bug screwed me at the worst possible time, I found this game to be pretty entertaining.

I'd like to point out that though you did not get ganked at the beginning of the match your.teammates made the smarter decision as neutral control is game deciding in twisted treeline. Another thing is of recommend rushing aegis of legion as it gives you health, armor/mr, and damage all of which great on gragas. Wards are another thing your missing they are very crucial and will help with the neutral control. Also the last thing i'll leave you with is try and take body slam first because at level 1 it is one of the strongest spells in the game.

@ragingreaper, I elected not to engage them at the start because there was no point. They had 2 smites, so there was really no way we could steal the lizard from them. On top of that, they had 2 strong forms of CC at lv 1. Udyr's stun and shen's taunt.

I usually do take body slam first, sometimes I take barrel roll. It's useful to toss it in the brush at the start to scatter camping enemies. Usually, they see it coming and move away. I can often land several hits before the first fight even begins. But ya, I agree with you, body slam is very strong.
